Apparently she had wanted to go with him so he had to liveblog his experience. I was halfway finished with my bowl before he started eating.
People don't live in the real world anymore. I turned off my phone's notifications so I only look at it when I want, not every time it buzzes or lights up. My mental illness has gone down significantly. |

similarly, if you are engaged in conversation with someone, it is rude to be staring at your phone.
but if someone is out to eat with a group of people, they aren't going to be (or want to be) engaged in conversation the entire time. i don't see why someone would get upset about another group member messing with his/her phone while quietly eating in this scenario. not worth worrying about, IMO.
i know several people who are OCD about others checking their phones. usually these are narcissistic extroverts who try to dominate social situations, always want to be the center of attention, constantly tell stories about themselves, and expect those around them to hang on their every word and fawn over how funny they are. |
