People like Panish, Rowley, Mike Alder, Gary Dordick, Arash Hamanpour, etc try lots of cases and live and breath trials. They are just like politicians. They are charasmatic, great public speakers, pursuasive, and can think on their feet. They dont do the day to day of running a firm.
While I think I have the personality and charisma to be a top tier trial lawyer, my business model is completely different. I focus on customer service, volume, and making my cases as strong as possible. When it comes to trial I farm those out now because i couldnt handle 600 active cases if I was always in trial.
My model makes millions, and so does theirs, they are just different models. When I hit 8 figures I might cut my case load a bit and start doing big trials for fun, but who knows.
Ive done a bunch of trials but they were all small and earlier on in my career. Chandler tried my last 3 trials. |

CSLG -- I'm interested in why a truly mega case would sign up with you (who as I recall don't really advertise) rather than the other GOAT firms who have all these articles written about how they bring in $100mm verdicts ... and then when you get the mega case, how you would decide to bring in those GOAT guys and give up millions of dollars. (And then, why is it one GOAT in case #1 and the other GOAT on case #2? Couldn't you cut a better deal if Rowley or whoever knew you'd always bring him in to do the big trials?) I also am extremely patient and very good at explaining things to laypeople. That makes them feel comfortable and safe. I also am a great salesperson/closer. I look like in 25 IRL but clients love me for whatever reason.
No, Nick wouldnt give a better deal with more volume. All the big guys do the same deal. 50/50 on fees and they pay 100% of costs. |

I work up the case for 2 years because why would I bring in a crazy trial lawyer if the case could settle first? I bring them in when I know the case will likely be tried.
Yes, these cases are VERY hard to find. I get 50+ cases a month and only find a handful of great cases every year (maybe 5-10 500k+). The rest are 250k in value and lower. |

People don't find me on Google. They get me from personal referrals. I am friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and caring. And that's just me IRL. No act. So people trust me and hire me, even on huge cases. I honestly tell them if needed, I will bring in a top tier trial attorney. I am completely transparent. People really appreciate that. |
