I went to school with his daughter Tiffany so I had a few interactions with the Donald and all were positive. The one anecdote that I'll share is from the school plays. Tiffany was involved in the school theatre program and so was my brother so I was usually helping out as an usher for the plays. Donald attended all the plays that were put on despite living across the country from our school in LA. The thing that was most impressive was how here arrived to the plays, he was always late, just 1 minute late. He'd arrive and take his seat in the rear just after the house lights went down so he didn't draw any attention away from the kids. He'd slip out as quietly as he'd arrived, when he was at the school his focus was 100% on his daughter and not himself. Despite living in a pretty solid liberal area most people from that school admit that's it kind of hard to square our experiences with him up with the media's portrayal of him as a brash, egotistical idiot. |

Date: September 18th, 2019 1:35 AM Author: hairless irate corner I remember when Trump had just started to run his campaign I read about how this Puerto Rican guy from the Bronx went onto twitter to defend the President and told a story of how his uncle had had a stroke or heart attack or something and was lying in the streets in NY for hours apparently and no one did anything until Trump was driving by in his limo and saw him, then stopped and called the ambulance, waited with the guy and paid his ambulance bill maybe (I don't remember that last part 100%)
Also there is another story of how a couple helped Trump change the tire on his limo in the middle of nowhere and he got to know them and was very thankful then drove off. They got a call later in the week that Trump paid off the mortgage on their house.
These stories go on and on and this type of magnanimity is why I supported him immediately, it was some old school Roman nobility level shit. The first story I read like a day or two after his campaign announcement when I was still somewhat skeptical but after that I just said fuck it we gotta MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. |
