NYC is 180 as fuck because everything is a five minute walk away. Like on a Saturday I would walk to breakfast at any of 10 restaurant by me. After breakfast the family and I would just walk around some more. That’s just life in NY. In this Yankee hell hole I need to drive 20 miles to get anywhere. It’s super fucking annoying and I find I do less shit as a result. It’s no wonder so many Yankees are fat slobs. Car culture is death on so many levels.... Not NYC level experience but you can walk to brunch or the park with your retard kids. Portland, Denver, Austin, Atlanta, Charlotte, etc. You can get a decent place for under 500k and be in walking distance to a lot of stuff.
NYC, Bos, SF, are great but very expensive and I go to the same 5-10 places anyway which you can do in any of these cities if you buy in the right place. |

CR is usually Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Houston, Philly. These places are pretty cheap but big enough you can build career without needing to move. But Charlotte, Portland, Austin, Nashville etc are all pretty 180 and its cheap to live in the nicest, walkable places. You have to choose to live in a walkable place though and not get enticed by the McMansion suburbs for the same price. Still beats a 1.2 million shithold in brooklyn though. |
