NEW HAVEN - One man was killed and another was injured after two separate shootings in the city over night, a city official said.
A 40-year-old man was shot multiple times around 1 a.m. today outside of 17 Rosette Street. He died a few hours later at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, said city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga.
The victim had been sitting in his Ford pick-up truck during the shooting, she said. At least one bullet went through a window and struck his face, she said.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg while driving near Whalley Avenue and Winthrop Avenue, Mayorga said. The wound was not life-threatening, she said. He flagged down a police officer to report the shooting, she said.
Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call New Haven police at (203)946-6304.

Arthur Linton Corbin was a leading legal scholar and professor who made significant and influential contributions to the development of U.S. contract law.
Corbin was born October 17, 1874, in Cripple Creek, a small mining town located near Colorado Springs. He was raised in Cripple Creek and then left Colorado to attend the University of Kansas, from which he graduated in 1894. He went on to the Yale Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1899. After several years of practicing law and teaching high school back in Cripple Creek, he returned to Yale in 1903 to accept a position as an instructor in contracts. He became a full professor in 1909 and remained at Yale until his retirement in 1943 at the age of sixty-eight.

People die. Getting into Yale Law School doesn't make you invulnerable.
