I bet at least 5% of law students have misdemeanors on their records.
And another 5% have some kind of academic dishonesty shit on their records too.

Probably 2% or less.
I think that basically what it takes is having some relatively serious shit in your past, lying about it on your application, and then having it found out. Or having some really, REALLY serious shit in your past and telling the truth about it.
I think academic dishonesty may do it, too, depending on how serious it was and how contrite you are about it.

I think it probably depends on why.
Like if you fail because you have 3 drug convictions in the past two years, they might let you apply again if you go to rehab and stay clean for a year.
But if you are Jeff Skilling or something, there is really no point in reapplying.

I failed character and fitness and was fired from my firm because once, in 1996, I was filing out a marketing survey and indicated that my favorite candy was "Baby Ruth." This was not true. I much preferred gummi bears. But there was a cute girl sitting next to me at the mall and I didn't want her to know I liked gummi bears. It seemed gay.
Anyway, I disclosed this on my application at the advice of my law schools dean and was denied admission to the bar and fired. Now I'm the assistant undersecretary of the Department of Defense.

How will C&F look upon a failure to disclose two arrests (with no convictions) on a law school application that asked about applicant arrest record?
