only been there briefly, not much advice. taos pueblo is cool though and so is the gorge bridge that everyone killsself on. taos itself is just a miniature santa fe, which you didn't like.
also they very recently tore down the kit carson signage at his park and re-named it after some indian thing. be careful speaking his name!
another weird thing to look out for in that area are white people with bad sunburns speaking spanish. they are descendants of the colonists who never interbred and they strongly identify as "spanish americans," afaik it's the only place in america where that identity has any significance. they speak an antiquated version of spanish due to centuries of isolation. pretty wild.
only eaten at sabor real, which is a solid but unremarkable new mexican spot. orlandos in prado looks much better for that. corner office is THE fancy bar but it's closed until thursday because new mexico.
