bitcoin took like TWO YEARS to bottom out in the last bubble. it peaked at 1k, hovered at 800-900 for a while, then very gradually declined to 250. granted, the order of magnitude of that bubble (considering it was 90% btc and not a gaggle of shitcoins on its heels) was much smaller

my point is it's virtually impossible to put any sort of number on this for many years. until ethereum (or other cryptos) is actually used for its primary intended purpose of being a distributed computing system (or medium of exchange in the case of e.g. monero), and the transaction speed is SHARDINGUPGRADED, things will flop around based on the whims of korea and china. it's very hard to get a grasp on the velocity of (crypto) money when 99% of the flow is in speculation instead of usage. the money from merchant banks backing visa doesn't need to be on the order of trillions in reserves; on the other hand, nobody is trying to hoard that money either.

is it more than 60 billion? probably, maybe? it's a worthwhile gamble, assuming benevolent dictator buterin keeps eth on top of n competitors.

Oh, and we encourage you ICOs to register so that we can offer proper legal protections to the investors.

this is an issue in general, but could manifest bigly in crypto as it's a new (at this point still mostly theoretical) industry

2) corporate adoption of blockchain for commercial purposes

these 2 are critical for crypto and easily controllable by central governments. yes they can't cutoff access to blockchain themselves but they can easily control money transfers and which blockchains are allowed to be used by F1000 companies
