Stellar's one of the best coins and has been for a long time. It does a lot of what Ripple does but also much more. It does smart contracts and dAPPs, you can run an ICO on it, it is the base currency for the Stellar network which is a decentralized exchange platform. You can send a ton of money in less than a second and the fee is thousandths of a penny. The foundation is investing a ton of effort in promoting it in the third world, where merchants cannot handle the large transactions fees of traditional finance. It has a chance at legitimate mainstream adoption and becoming the legendary "coin you can buy coffee with".
And I say this owning no Stellar at present (though maybe I should).
