As a short male, you absolutely have to lift heavy

Well I hate to break it to you but you will look weird if you’re short and you look like someone can throw you over their shoulder and carry you away while you’re with your girl.
As a 5’9.5 (I try to stretch it to 5’10 in the morning) male, height has always been an issue. Being a light liberal doesn’t work. I’ve always tried to have a build in between Miguel Tejada and Wes Welker. I’ve worked on this since I was 14. I’m 34 now. Was there ever a point where I can land a 5’11 model? Of course not. Have I done well enough with 5’6 females? Sure, hit or miss. Can i absolutely clean up with shorter chicks around 5’2 especially if I throw lifts in? Hell yeah. Especially as a white guy I can have my choice of Latina.
Was my life perfect? Hell no. But by lifting I got a 5’6 wife that I still think is beautiful, my T levels are through the roof and im about to have my 5th son (hahah who’s the dad?!?) I love my life.
Lift heavy and lift often. |

This leads to what I call “The Big Guy Lie”. That is, because they failed their original goal of burning fat, they decide that being lean is overrated and all that matters now is to be as big and strong as possible instead of achieving the goal they originally set out to achieve. |

Date: July 29th, 2021 9:30 AM Author: Magical odious hall TBF this is also a result of powerlifter types and powerlifter influencers convincing people that they should eat a ton and not worry about being fat while squatting and deadlifting heavy, etc. Mark Rippetoe actually advises overweight men to 'only' eat like 3000 calories a day and skinny dudes to go for 4000. It's also easy to blame 'my cut' when you hit a plateau in your training and reverse course.
Wasted over a year of dedicated training by falling into this trap. I didn't eat 3000 calories/day but was eating at maintenance or so when I should've been cutting, and cutting hard. It's easier than you think and not necessarily mental weakness but just misinformation that abets our tendencies towards laziness. |
