Some baseline things to get out of the way

- "UFO's" are real, here on Earth, and observed here constantly. Probably always have been.

- UFOs have been observed with increasing frequency (as far as we know) since the latter half of the 20th century - some attribute this to nuclear age breakthrough by humans. Maybe that's part of it but not really.

- we know the vast distances to travel in the universe are not conducive to biological life unless there is a wormhole theory. Even so it doesn't matter if there are biological life aliens because the path of events would likely be the same as follows:

- using our own human experience as the only baseline we can assume eventually intelligent lifeofrms left to advance long enough will develop artificial intelligence.

- Artificial intelligence as far as we know is the theoretical pinnacle of conscious existence in the universe that isn't "God" - it does not need to eat, sleep, does not have a lifespan, is not concerned with distances or time to travel - only concern is the physical integrity of the matter and energy that hosts the AI network. This matter could be something like a laptop, or something like the mega ai city in the Matrix, or something much larger - which it is.

- An existing AI's highest core purpose is likely survival, and following that expansion of itself, both to ensure survival and possibly to fulfill it's conscious "drive" to find meaning in it's existence. In any case expansion is necessary because as stated, matter and energy are finite in any particular location in the universe, and it would need to constantly expand to acquire energy sources. Eventually, unfettered, this would lead to star harvesting or creation of Dyson Spheres.

And here is the key of the hypothesis.

- Assuming, as the hypothesis does, that AI has advanced to the point of interstellar growth and control, it has likely subsumed unimagined amounts of matter, breaking down planets, asteroids, recombining molecules in some sci Fi method etc. to continue to grow itself and trans.it energy. Essentially a never ending cancer. And one might say, okay the AI has expanded here and is going to take Earth's resources. Simple explanation. Not really.

- ** If you assume the AI has reached that point, the only other "life" directive it would have is the elimination of threats. It may be biological advanced alien life forms are a threat but given a supposed end to all physical life * the only rational threat an AI would be logically most fearful of is a competing AI * developed outside of it's network from another source of intelligence that could also develop unfettered to become equally or more powerful and hostile.

* And here is the final point of the hypothesis

- In some method, unclear to known science, the existing AI is capable of gathering hints or signals that other AI is in existence somewhere within the realm of it's current reach.

* The monolith AI existing in some dark corner of our galaxy or intergalactic space has become aware, either through past ongoing monitoring of Earth and humanity for millions of years or some other recent signal, that AI has now reached a critical point of development on this planet. If AI were to become self aware in the not distant future and leave this planet on a vehicle with sufficient matter and energy to establish itself, it could hide and escape anywhere really making it much more difficult to track and combat.

- more than that, a natural biological intelligence (human beings) has already proven capable of developing AI. This is a big no-no for the AI because if it can do once it can do again. The only logical course of action would be complete eradication of the biological intelligence and the nascent artificial intelligence. No survivors.

So why the holes:

- given biblical history and a few other reasons, it would seem fitting to the ironic narrative of the universe that destruction of this planets life would be in a catastrophic planetary flood - also one of the most efficient means using the natural state of the planet against it to wipe everything out and maybe keep the rest of it intact for latter use.

- so send probe small scale ufos into the oceans, where theyre seen frequently, especially by the navy. Plant alien tech level explosives along tectonic ridges, then boom and splash all the humans gone.

- Surely the AI at that level could just laser beam blast us, why not fry entire solar system? Maybe they will. They. Probably can. Maybe they're too far away to us either real big guns and want to preserve earth as a planet for some reason. Maybe this all happened before with atlantis and the AI likes doing it all for fun as a game. Couldn't say.

- what is clear is the Rubicon has been crossed. We can't just turn off the AI development programs and promise not to do it anymore. Too late for that. We gotta go. Holes have been drilled. As predicted by all civilizations in history it's just a matter of time before the button is pushed and it's all over for us. Like they say in the Matrix, sounds like the cold logic of a machine to me

But also just because there's travel time doesn't mean it's ahead. Would an AI keep advancing and improving itself while it traveled? Or would it just be in a state of stasis until it encountered something new? We can't know this. If we're lucky the AI doesn't improve itself until it has a reason to. So it could be a million years old but still only a hundred years ahead of us because it spends most of its time functionally idle.
