Police investigate after 25-year-old rapper shot to death in Hallandale Beach

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man, who they identified as rapper Brandon Wamley, in Hallandale Beach on Thursday night.

Officers with the Hallandale Beach Police Department said they responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 500 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue.

Authorities said Wamley was transported to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries.

Hallandale Beach police continue to search for the shooter, going door to door and looking for clues.

A man who lives nearby told Local 10’s Rosh Lowe in Spanish that he took off and hid in his bathroom after hearing multiple gunshots.

Witnesses confirmed Wamley was a rapper known as Wham SpinThaBin.

Jail records obtained by Local 10 News Friday show he had a criminal history in Broward County, including charges of cannabis possession, stalking, and writing a threat to kill.

“It is scary because you see police in the middle of the night. You’re wondering what’s going on,” another neighbor said.
