Republicans want to preserve the disastrous status quo and Obamacare doesn't fix anything significant and makes certain things worse.

I was looking into the cost of long term care insurance, it has gotten dramatically and prohibitively more expensive over the years. An old person in a decent nursing home costs like 10k/month
The middle class go through their savings then get dumped in a Medicaid nursing home, the poor go straight there. They’re basically left alone there neglected until they die of bed sores and unchanged clothing by uncaring illegals and mud creatures
Horrifying fate and no one in (((america))) talks about it
In the third world all the old people live with their families
Apparently Japan, Norway, Sweden, Denmark have decent old age solutions, but that’s just because those are/were homogenous high trust societies which are all going down the shitter too

People in the US don't live with their families? It's all I saw growing up, my parents are going to live with my bro (who lives in the same town), and we're gonna buy my in-laws a house near us so we can take care of them without them living in our house driving me fucking crazy with their weird behaviors.
We have a family compound but will likely spend significant time at our nearby pied a terre instead specifically to provide care for them.
Pretty much everyone I know expects their parents to live with them or in the same area.
Even before I copped DAT EQUITY, we figured we'd be caring for our parents in their old age.
Maybe this is some WASP bullshit, but Germans are better than that.
