i assume verlander has a higher WAR just because he played 3 more seasons

Keeshaw’s ratio stats are better across the board, but Verlander’s pitched 700 more innings. Ultimately he was more valuable because he stayed in one piece most seasons.
Comparing postseasons:
Verlander: 17-12, 3.58 Kershaw: 13-13, 4.49
Edit:
As an aside, if you had to pick one to give the ball to in a Game 7, it easily would be Verlander. Kershaw consistently sucked in big games. |

Kershaw has the classic tall white guy look, the Dodger blue looks great on everyone, one-team man, etc.
Verlander looks like of pudgy/scummy and has been on like 10 teams, but statisically and in big games probably better. |
