"TC you are forgetting one big thing, Nintendo is not actually putting everything in one spot, Nintendo is diversifying beyond gaming now, they are expanding merchandising and licensing further with movie deals, more toys/legos, museums and theme parks. This used to just be Pokemon but now nintendo is doing for Mario and Zelda and perhaps Splatoon and Animal crossing could be next.

Nintendo absolutely has more than one revenue stream. I'm willing to bet Nintendo will try to get back into comics and anime/cartoons again like in the 80s/90s booms. Not to mention Pokemon earns more money from merchandising and licensing deals than the actual games themselves. Similar trends could soon happen for Mario and other franchises."
