Caught my reflection in a puddle. Kept walking.

Started the day with a cold shower because my landlord "forgot" to fix the boiler again. Classic Seattle. Threw on my only clean hoodie and headed out, hoping the fresh air might help. It didn’t.
Passed a guy selling “artisan” umbrellas for $40. Laughed bitterly and kept walking. A homeless man screamed at a trash can, calling it a traitor. I nodded in understanding.
Stopped at a corner deli for a $9 cold brew. The cashier asked if I’d like to donate to the "City Recovery Initiative." I swiped my card and muttered, “Take it all, friend.” It won’t matter.
By the time I got home, it was raining inside my apartment. Not metaphorically—literally. The ceiling’s leaking again. I stared at the drip and whispered, “Yes, friend. This is fine.”
