I.e. working 7nights on/14off or 122shifts/yr you can finally make the same as a standard day schedule of mo-fr 40weeks/yr or 200shifts. Question is if I can get the same hourly rate working day weekends as nights, I could then just work something like 12days on/16off. I signed a contract for a day job where I don't have to do any weekends or offhours at all. So if they ask me to work weekends I'll tell them the price is at least 1.5x per hour. I already have an outside job where I do weekends at least at that rate. But most employers think doctors are suckers who will volunteer to work extra at the same rate. And they use other doctors to try to get you to do free work, i.e. "can't u do 1 weekend shift so others don't have to do twice as many". Maybe "others" shouldn't volunteer either.
