Hither Green Lane stabbing: Victim 'named as drill rapper'
A man in his 20s who was stabbed to death in Hither Green is believed to be a Lewisham rapper, according to tributes shared online.
Police remain at Hither Green Lane, near Benin Street, following the fatal knife attack on Tuesday (October 28) at 3.25pm.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where he died shortly after.
While formal identification has not been confirmed by the Metropolitan Police, tributes have been shared online for a drill rapper called Mojo NP.
It is understood that the rapper has affiliation with the Cornmill Gardens area in Lewisham.
In his latest video shared on his TikTok, many people shared messaged including “Longlive cuzzy” and “RIP Mojo”.
Another person wrote: “Fly high my big bro”.
In one song promoted by the rapper on TikTok, Mojo references a knife in his lyrics.
It should be noted that the identity of the victim still has not been officially confirmed by the Met.
Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Superintendent Nick Jowett, of the Met’s Royal Borough of Greenwich Policing team said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this distressing time.
“Although we are in the very early stages of the investigation, I can assure you that detectives are working at pace to identify those responsible for this senseless attack.
“In the meantime, local residents can expect to see an increased police presence across the area.
"Please speak to them if you have any concerns.”
There have been no arrests.
