πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡»πŸ‡¦ Spanish newspaper El País has revealed that during a November meeting at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV told Spanish bishops that his greatest concern in Spain is "far-right ideology," and anti-immigration rhetoric.

In their first meeting with the new Pope, the bishops were told to prioritise combatting anti-immigration rhetoric and efforts by the Spanish right to use Catholic identity for their ends. Leo reportedy views combatting the rise of anti-immigration politics as one of his top priorities.

Days after the meeting, the Spanish Episcopal Conference publicly supported the immigrant 'regularisation' plan approved by the government in the Council of Ministers and harshly criticized by Vox.

El País claims this reflected the direction set by the Pope during the Vatican encounter.
