Date: October 21st, 2025 8:54 PM Author: https://imgur.com/a/o2g8xYK Actually I'm not that far into the book. It was published in 2020 so a lot of it is OBE, but the Foreward was updated in 2024 and it's hilarious to read in retrospect. Since the book came out first I'll talk about that first.
The book: It's called The Room Where It Happened, which is an awful title. Procopius called his book "Secret History." That's a title that grabs you. "The Room Where it Happened" is weak af when you see the author is John Fucking Bolton.
The thing is, I'm 100% sure Bolton wrote the book himself, because no one else is given credit for writing or editing any of it, and because it's written like shit. Here is an actual paragraph:
"After Trump left office, using the risk of extensive discovery of both White House and Justice malfeasance, my friend and trusted lawyer Chuck Cooper obtained dismissal of Trump's civil case with prejudice. As part of the settlement, the desultory, inactive criminal gambit was also dropped."
Bolton will also switch into lawyer-mode and write long passages like this (ignore the highlights, they help me read):

If it's not already apparent from that snippet, Bolton spends most of the Foreward (written in 2024) predicting that if Trump gets re-elected, he'll have all his enemies arrested, and Bolton predicts he'll be one of them.

It's lulzy as fuck because it seems to be about the book, but it's not at all in line with Bolton's prediction. The book was published in 2020, but according to the indictment Bolton was emailing two bitches almost every day the entire time he was Trump's National Security Advisor since 2018. The two bitches testified to the GJ so they aren't named, but it sounds like they were book publishers ready to turn this into a memoir before Bolton even stepped into the jerb. Bolton keeps emailing these bitches, bragging about how he's got all kinds of hot info coming. He would walk around with a yellow notepad taking notes all day, then use his notes to compose long emails to these book publishers.
The indictment also mentions that Bolton had a SCIF installed in his house, which is prestigious. Bolton never talks about any of this in the book though, of course. He keep predicting Trump will accuse him of leaking secrets in the book (it's 574 pages incl. the index), knowing full well he was leaking secrets via gmail for two years |

He's really obsessed with Venezuela, go figure. I have to give him credit for writing all 500+ pages himself though. You can tell no one else even proofread it.
