It's disappointing to see conservatives engaging in this and it's another example of how cons are increasingly as unprincipled as libs.
It's a legitimately horrifying window into our society how in the wake of every tragedy the warriors in each political tribe go on the hunt to identify the perpetrator as someone in the group they don't like. The outright glee in which everyone participates in this Scapegoat Whodunnit is a disgusting. And its incompatible with the Anti-Identity Politics, Anti-Woke shit so many harped on for the past decade.
If your reaction to a tragedy is hoping the perpetrator will be a good tool to weaponize against your political opponents, you should do some soul searching. It's very sinister and cynical impulse, and it's increasingly being normalized.
