this woman was in her home. she didn't create the situation like Zimmerman did.
It seems like the only difference here is that this woman lives in a "troubled neighborhood" (i.e., black neighborhood) so the jury pool was probably more favorable to the prosecution. Ironic because the "troubled neighborhood" makes her fear more reasonable than that Zimmer mystery meat person. |

The fact that there was a locked door between her and the assailant is pretty a big difference from Zimmerman
I know it’s not what self defense classes teach but the credited move in this situation is to fire a warning shot in a direction that won’t hit anyone. You avoid a jury trial if you do that. |
