As of December 18, 2025, the United States maintains travel restrictions under a presidential proclamation signed on December 16, 2025, expanding earlier restrictions from June 2025. This policy imposes full or partial entry suspensions on nationals from certain countries due to vetting deficiencies, high visa overstay rates, or failure to cooperate on repatriation.

Countries with Full Restrictions (suspension of entry as immigrants and most nonimmigrants):

Afghanistan

Burma (Myanmar)

Chad

Republic of the Congo

Equatorial Guinea

Eritrea

Haiti

Iran

Libya

Somalia

Sudan

Yemen

Newly added/upgraded: Burkina Faso, Laos, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Syria

Additionally, full restrictions apply to individuals holding Palestinian Authority-issued travel documents.

Countries with Partial Restrictions (limited visa categories, often immigrant visas and select nonimmigrant like tourist/student):

Burundi

Cuba

Togo

Venezuela

Newly added: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia, Zimbabwe

100% agree, but it falls under symbolic. We never had real immigration from any of these nations (esp going forward if talking about Afghan).

Out all of those, the only one with meaningful numbers (like MULTIPLE thousands per year which is actually not meaningful) was Burma and Burmese are CHILL as fuck and hard working and cause 0 problems.

This is stream of consciousness, so take with a grain of salt. But almost all criticism of Trump is short sighted in my view. People complain about tariffs and foreign policy and so on. "He's not going to bring manufacturing back, the next administration will get rid of tariffs. It makes no sense." All of this is either short sighted or assumes that gigantic change is possible in a very short timeframe.

I believe that Trump is basically serving to restructure the world economy to be better aligned with underlying realities (energy, finance, etc.) He is using the tools at his disposal to do so. But more broadly, he is basically giving permission to people to leave the prior economic order behind.

People will argue that we can't make things here, but the truth is that the hyper-financialized global model of production and consumption reached its peak (probably around 2020) and is unworkable going forward. Some of this legitimately comes down to the fact that the availability of oil used to make diesel fuel and jet fuel basically peaked from a per capita standpoint. There's just not enough growth in the fuel we need to move goods cheaply around the world.

Now to be clear, I'd much prefer we just let the asset bubble deflate and then restructure the economy in a healthier way. But it seems like the powers that be will never allow that. Instead, it seems that there is an effort at a controlled demolition of the old way and a move into a new system. Trump is the enabler of this.

Obviously feel free to call my a lunatic.

First paragraph isnt for this thread. This is for what he is doing to help America.

"I believe that Trump is basically serving to restructure the world economy to be better aligned with underlying realities (energy, finance, etc.)" How? by turning to energy out of the ground instead of focusing on tech/compounding efficient forms of renewables which are already cheaper than fossil fuels? Or my changing our financial structure to include MORE debt, LONGER terms (50 mortgages!), and creating his own crypto coin and inviting them to meet with him? Please do tell.

Explain how Trump is not continuing to prop up the financial system you rightfully claim needs to be changed? I see lower rates + more debt as the financial issue that got us here, needs to be resolved.

"Explain how Trump is not continuing to prop up the financial system you rightfully claim needs to be changed? I see lower rates + more debt as the financial issue that got us here, needs to be resolved."

I agree that he is propping up the financial system, but I think there is basically no will at all in the elite class to do the needful and let it restructure on its own (that ship basically sailed in 2008 and again in 2020.) IMO what Trump is doing is trying to alter the course of a gigantic ship (US and world economy) within the constraints that exist. My beef with him is that he is not a destroyer of worlds, but rather he is trying to make meaningful reforms within the confines of the system. It doesn't mean that he will totally succeed (I don't think anyone could given the size of the debt bubble and the issues caused by it), but he is the only one with the will to even try. Any movement back towards being a more productive economy is good, even if (and perhaps especially if) it means less overall consumption.

"renewables which are already cheaper than fossil fuels?" -- renewables are not cheaper than fossil fuels when you take into account storage and intermittency. And even if they were, solar and wind do nothing for the movement of goods across the world.

Separate to all of this, Trump's re-election has absolutely loosened the reins of the uber-woke garbage. I dunno where you sit in corporate America (or if you sit in it at all), but there has been a noticeable sigh of relief on social matters. Way less walking on eggshells generally from a social perspective. And I tend to think that even normal liberals are happy to put the tranny bullshit in a box in the closet again.

Shit isn't perfect, but I think a lot of critics of Trump operate from a place of bad faith and standards that they would never apply to their own politico of choice. Not saying you are even doing this, and I also understand there are a lot of MAGA cultist types, but it is possible to look at Trump as a paradigm shift (even with some of the stupid bullshit that comes out as well.)

"renewables are not cheaper than fossil fuels"

Is that why 90% of new energy being built is renewable and that renewable wins hands down on price? No one is suggesting we will never use oil/gas for energy, shipping for example would be among the last to transition, but LOL for thinking for cars/power plants electricity isnt the best and Trump is holding the US back.

"he is the only one with the will to even try"

How so? If you say tariffs, he did them illegaly and once overturned, they are nothing. He could have done them the proper way, but his main goal was to do tax cuts for the wealthy and reduce spending on needy Americans.

I gave half a credit for the DEI/woke stuff. Its not really impactful, but I get it. Its more than symbolic.

Doesn't seem like Trump has done much to be honest. Anything else?

Are you living in 2005? Serious Q. Renewables, esp solar, won the pricing game like a decade ago.

Chatgpt:

Levelized cost of energy (LCOE) – lower is cheaper

Solar PV (utility-scale): among the lowest cost for new generation; often ~$24–96/MWh range and cheaper than new gas/coal even without subsidies.

Wikipedia

+1

Onshore wind: also very low LCOE comparable with solar at the bottom end (often ~$24–75/MWh).

Wikipedia

Battery storage (paired with solar): can be the lowest cost when paired with PV (≈$25/MWh in some analyses).

ScienceDirect

Natural gas (combined cycle): higher than renewables in many cost comparisons (~$48–109/MWh).

Wikipedia

Coal & nuclear (new builds): typically higher cost than wind/solar.

Bottom line: Solar and onshore wind are the cheapest new generation options in the U.S. and generally beat new fossil fuel plants on a levelized cost basis.

New capacity being added to the grid (2025)

Solar: ~58% of all new generating capacity added in 2025 so far.

SEIA

Wind + solar + biomass: ~91% of new capacity added in the first half of 2025.

Energy Central

Solar alone was ~75–82% of this.

Energy Central

Natural gas: comparatively small share (~9% of new capacity in early 2025).

Energy Central

Other (oil/others): tiny remainder.

The reason why solar and wind accounted for most of the new capacity brought online is because world governments decided to spend trillions of dollars on them. It is a gigantic grift to drive "economic growth" and keep the debt bubble going. Not because they work as well as oil, coal, and natural gas. Literally trillions of dollars have been spent by western governments chasing something that will never work as well as fossil fuels for energy generation. AI data center buildout has taken the place of renewables as the new way to keep the debt bubble going.

"Onshore wind: also very low LCOE comparable with solar at the bottom end (often ~$24–75/MWh)." -- which is really great when the wind is blowing...but it is intermittent. So you need to build out mass battery storage and associated T&D infrastructure to deal with the intermittency.

Same for solar. And solar is relatively useless in large swathes of the world. Awesome if you live in Arizona and put panels on the roof of your home...less so if you live in northern England.

Talking about wind / solar as a percentage of new capacity is not as smart as you think it is. There is simply no need to bring in new capacity for fossil fuel generated power because said capacity is already in place. The new wind and solar capacity being brought online is to try and replace fossil fuel generated power in places with strict "climate" mandates or other government-provided incentives.

Moreover, if solar and wind were obviously cheaper than something like natural gas, Germany would not be dealing with an industrial crisis. Germany is getting its shit pushed in economically because the Russian natural gas spigot was turned off. Weird considering that Germany has spent hundreds of billions of Euros on renewable power over the last 10 - 20 years.

I recommend you read https://newsletter.doomberg.com/ if you want to actually dig into this stuff in more detail.

Are you genuinely like 100 IQ?

The only thing that matters is whether or not the Trump admin is preferable to a Kamala Harris admin. Which it is, obviously

Obviously the Trump admin could be a lot better but it is just not meaningful at all to frame the question in the manner of the OP. The Trump admin could be making America substantially worse (maybe it is?), and it would still be far preferable to a Democrat admin, which would be making society even worse still

So, you cannot name the things Trump has done that helps America, you can only say "Well it would have been worse if someone else was President!"

Got it.

That is the only meaningful statement that we can make about the Presidency, which is a two-way race in which the only input that we have as individuals is casting our one vote for one of the candidates or the other

This is just an IQ test that people like you always fail

"MAGA fags, can you explain ways Trump is making America better?"

>>>>

>>>>>

"MAGA fags, can you explain ways Trump is making America better? (compared to if he was not the President, in which case Kamala Harris would be President, since she was who was running against him in the Presidential election)"

Here, I wrote it out for you so that you can understand what is going on here. You are asking a question that implies a hypothetical alternative. To pretend like the question does not include the hypothetical alternative renders the question meaningless

Let me know if you have any questions

I have made it clear that this discussion is about the good things Trump has done, not a comparison that THINGS MIGHT HAVE BEEN WORSE UNDER SOMEONE ELSE.

But we get it, you can't name good things Trump has done. This proves my point.

No, you asked a specific question in your OP, and you are too stupid to understand what you actually asked, and are getting mad at the poasters here who are calling you out for being a retard who doesn't understand your own question

The good things that Trump has done are self evident. It is not meaningful to list the good things that Trump has done. You are an actual idiot if you believe this. Trump has done both good and bad things. There are other good and bad things that he could do, but has not done

It is only meaningful to evaluate his Presidency in terms of whether it has been a net positive or a net negative compared to the alternative. Which is what the question in your OP implies, since it's the only meaningful question that can be asked about any Presidency. But you are just too stupid to understand any of this

Border crossing at zero. Dei being defunded. Federal govt that doesn't give a shit about climate change. That alone gets 90% of my vote. Do you have a better alternative?

Not debating alternatives because you fags would just be like "LOL no it would be way worse!" The point is what has Trump done to make USA better.

Reduction in illegals via the borders, that's a nice win. Unlike Trump I, I hope Trump puts more things in place to KEEP IT THIS WAY, ie make it difficult to overturn, but given he is President only during his term, this is a nice win for USA. Climate change is meaningless/symbolic. DEI I think is in between symbolic and actually a win for USA.

So I'll say 1.5 wins here. ty for actually naming some.

Trump gets an A+ on immigration and sets the curve. It probably cost him the most in popularity but tbf it was his signature issue. I give him full credit for that. Ending DEI is more aligned with curbing government waste. People should be free to believe this shit but HR shouldn't be hiring consultants for it.

Personally I think killing climate change as a policy influence is the biggest possible impact. The admin isn't there yet but over the long term this is the greatest area of opportunity if you want to set the country and economy right. The issue has distorted markets in such weird and artificial ways. People forgoing kids out of some climate nihilism? Wtf?

"climate change" is going away because GC realizes we need a lot of fucking electricity for EVs, data centers, AI bullshit, etc. ppl aren't having kids because shit is too expensive and the expectations put on parents is way greater than when we were kids. like how instead of your kid playing on a regular above rec-league travel baseball team that plays others youth orgs in the area 15 games every spring, you're doing year-round shit with overnight travel and dropping over 5 fig$ every year.

How many illegals INSIDE USA PRIOR TO JAN 20 have been removed? My understanding is that it isnt millions. Am I wrong?

What's wrong with climate change? It really just means use renewables for energy (a good thing and more productive way to get energy, hence 90% of new power comes from it). I don't know any meaningful way climate change policy has helped/hurt Americans except for help move energy forward to being tech based.

First point - material reductions in numbers already here would require more logistical and public support than we can swing. The deportations are deterrence for new people.

Climate change is fake and most of the renewable energy is a scam and sucks away from productive areas of the economy. Climate change is like a political tax on the energy sector. It's not huge but it's wasteful. My issue is that it detracts from environmental issues that people really care about and that impacts our lives. Stop dangerous pollution not fucking carbon. Its fake and gay and being scammed.

Under 18 population is 60% Hispanic. Those are kids born here. Not sure what you were expecting. I don't know what happens next. It took 50 years of basically no immigration to integrate the Irish and Italians. I suspect the country moves increasingly self segregated and basic foundational services will turn to shit. Not just govt but customer service in general. If you want a life comparable to avg 1980s it will cost a lot above taxes and such. It's not a matter of living in a white country anymore. There will be a class reorganization, at least for the foreseeable future.

Climate change is total bullshit and so is renewable energy. Gas taxes put in place with a climate change pretext piss me the fuck off. I like forests and national parks. Climate change taxes don't help them at all. It's all fraud.

I honestly dont even know what climate tax things there out there. My understanding is that oil/gas is one of the most tax prevlidged industries there is.

Renewables already win for power generation. They are better for cars too already, though infrastructure isnt there yet.

If you see a city or even a state institute a tax for climate change it's a scam, aside from being ridiculous on its face.

It's hard to take renewables seriously with all of the market distortions. I do know that the amount of eg space needed for significant solar energy (like a city) is preposterous. That's somehow better for the environment than a nuclear reactor or even a natural gas plant? Bullshit. Whatever the medium is for powering a car, sure go with what is most efficient. Gasoline is a pretty amazing storage unit of energy though.
