When I pay at a counter now I always hit zero. But now I tell the person why: because I don't know if I'm going to get good service or not yet, and if there isn't outstanding service what's the point of a tip? The thing I was lacking is the backbone to return a crappy meal. I'm over it, serve a crap meal either remake it or refund. Tipping is out of hand, so is customer shaming and customer punishment.
