There’s a reason why they aren’t constantly proving deep mathematical theorems or replacing people dealing with system architecture. They are very good if you point them in a specific direction with a well defined, manageable task where the next step is reasonably clear to an intelligent person. I think a lot of the issue that comes from it not being able to replace high level systems architects or deep mathematicians completely comes down to what the system is and its relationship to time and stakes. You give it like a minute to solve something, but even when you have agent systems that you can allow to continuously run they get stuck because of no stakes and no experience of time, and don't feel anything when they get stuck, no confusion no pain no nothing.
