Once I realized that these were temporary increases due to Covid and IRA, I stopped caring. Trump’s plan on this issue returns the subsidies to 2020 levels.
Dems are wrong on this one, but good luck getting people to understand that. Everyone things the Republicans are trying to eliminate them entirely, including republicans.

It's how proponents of the law can run ads saying that Obamacare makes health insurance affordable. Except if you earn over a certain threshold (not high), you don't qualify. Self-employed people or small business owners who generate any real amount of revenue get jack shit and end up paying out the ass if they have to cover a family.
But I'm really glad that health insurers are mandated to cover PREP pills. Awesome!

What's amazing is that this is basically the retort from the bill's proponents. But then they'll also complain about how new business startups are down compared to historical rates.
Meanwhile if you get a subsidized plan through the exchange, be prepared to see a fresh off the boat nurse practitioner after waiting several weeks for an appointment.
Buying insurance under Obamacare is like ordering a ribeye and being served a hamburger without a bun.
