He uses "pusillanimous" and not only does it come across as unpretentious but it is called for with accuracy within context And it's not all to do with the format or technologies either; it's from a genuine and serious reduction in the quality of human capital available for weighing in on these matters, imo I read his 1909 inaugural address either and not only was it well placed and coated in excellent to the point diction it was *profound* in a way we haven't experienced since 2016 TRUMP's crass and pithy denudings of malfeasors within the party system. And what does that end up saying about the nation? Nothing good! |

Date: August 11th, 2025 5:53 AM Author: Sick Dull Site Coldplay Fan Granted Taft was supposedly an excellent speaker in the era if in authorship though not in delivery afaik But still it makes a man feel like weeping over what's all been lost to the Radio and Television's various compressions of essential expressions of the natures of the matters at hand Go back a little further, not even but a couple decades, and even no name Senators stationed in Podunk Iowa and Fishwife Rhode Island are dropping these Cincinnatus and Cicero style several page long albeit still concise orations about even the most mundane of tax and legal matters before their respective legislative bodies |
