My wife actively improves my life in basically every respect, including stress and happiness. Do we fight sometimes? Of course. But we’ve developed good habits around resolving conflict over the years. Are there a couple of immutable facts about her that drive me nuts? Yea, she’s by far the messier person and a mild agent of chaos in our household. But the good utterly eclipses the bad (I can barely be bothered to call it “bad.”) Even with some amount of work and compromise being required.
I think that this is largely a discussion of how well you choose your mate and how lucky you get in that person growing with you rather than away from you in some unfortunate way. EPAH would also make a great case study in this discussion, love to bust his balls though I do.
