Like with the recent Costco guys posting where you had a (ideal) vacillation between sincere and ironic treatment of the matter, what underpins it is generally not feigned, what is feigned is only a small shade in a spectrum of mostly genuine pro-prole sentiment about these sorts of businesses. Maybe the media made around it trends more towards the ironic but in general there's sincere appreciation of what convenience/utility/comfort it adds to customer lives especially vis a vis what came before it
