In any case, actual pessimism has always been unpopular. And argumentum ad populum is the world's favorite fallacy. |

schopenhauer responded to this with ascetic withdrawal. nietzsche responded to it with will-to-power to try to *spite* underlying reality |

Pretty much everyone is a nihilist with their own set of values and indulging in will-to-power. The ones that cry about "nihilism" in society are just uneducated about what that means.
