I've had a hard life because of some medical issues and I didn't grow up to be any kind of superman. If you go to the ghetto, you don't see a bunch of saints and geniuses forged in the fires of deprivation: poverty is brutalizing. If anything, it's vibrancy of life experience that builds character. If I had a son or daughter I'd introduce him or her to a wide variety of classic games. I wouldn't ban them from Roblox or whatever their friends were playing, but I'd at least show them OOT, Resident Evil 4, Dark Souls, and so on. The worst case scenario is to just have No Character and just be totally dedicated to Consoles, and also have no natural gifts to allow you to chill and coast and ace job interviews. You can lazily and sadistically avoid the most ignominious-case-scenario by being Scummy and making your kid play 32X imho.
Many of the most renowned and respected men from days of olde came from the upper classes and had Curated upbringings. A lot of medieval princes were made to joust and hunt and go to war and learn latin and be chivalrous and whatever else. |

Because some things are remembered, not told. Terranigma knows. It doesn’t sermonize. It shows. Creation was a mistake. Resurrection is a burden. That’s the difference. The youth pastor hands out pizza and sings worship songs in drop D tuning. Terranigma shows you a crucified God and doesn’t blink. |

If you want to participate in Winning, like as if it’s some mass moment of the monoculture and the Current Thing, then wait to see how sales go.
If you want to play games, wait until it has games. Work on your Backlog or something. Play Xenosaga. Play Terranigma. And Portal 2 or something. Play FF7 Remake duology on the steam deck. Get a Switch 2 when it has Games. Prime 4 isn’t going to be a Switch 2 game afaik. And you’ve probably never even played Prime 2 & 3.
