I guess it was all fake but you suspend disbelief and it SEEMS real. It would be cool if one of these guys wore a body-cam irl so that their story wouldn't sound so sus. Netflix documentaries are underrated kind of imo.
It always seems odd hearing the intel/military guys being Afraid of Pakistan's radar/military btw.
Anyway they failed for a decade but it was probably because Bush and his lackeys in the Republican Caucus wanted to keep their boogeyman/asset alive. For Obama it was worth the risk. Maybe he would've lost his bid for re-election if they didn't get Bin Laden. Obama kept everyone on a need-to-know basis, as the documentary depicts...If he had some neocon WASP running the CIA, the whole thing probably would've leaked. Panetta's Italian-ness is uncanny and makes him less of a swamp creature probably, although he is probably loyal to the Pope above all. If Obama weren't paranoid and didn't Care about getting Bin Laden, then they wouldn't have got to kill him imo. |
