Not really. If you are including boats that you actually use on the ocean and not some shit you row on a fishing pond it is UMC. Have you ever seen the gas bills, insurance, and bills to keep the boat at the marina?

In are country people just keep boats on their front lawn. They don’t have marinas.

why would they spend $1k/month to keep a boat at some marina when they could keep it at their house?

Here in FL some have boat garages (they're bigger than regular garages to accommodate a boat on a trailer).

Keep in mind, they might pay for dockage occasionally but they won't pay it year around. That seems like too much trouble to me but it isn't unreasonable.

An old aluminum fishing boat on a trailer, a bass boat, or a beat-up runabout can be prole. But a boat kept at a marina that is ocean capable is usually UMC. You are going to be paying like 30-50K per year for it. Maybe 20K minimum if its tiny and you barely take it out. Not many people are paying that for a boat on less than UMC salary.

No. Have known plenty of people who are UMC who have this. Why wouldn't a single guy who makes 200K per year be able to afford 30K per year? Its only becoming insane to afford anything more recently. Boomers who made like 150K per year owned small planes and shit.

Bro the UMC guy who does that ends up with No College Fund for his kids. UMC think about OCI starting early af. That’s where the Prep Clique comes from. Preparation for OCI.

Prole guy will absolutely spend everything he has and he’s divorced anyway and only sees the kids every fortnight so YOLO

Tons of UMC people have boats. My parents had one for like 20 years. Bayliner basically exists so MMC and UMC people can easily afford a boat.

Also, how do boat clubs factor into this?
