I like the part in Season 2 where he beats up the father of his kid’s bully.

“You got your father’s hands.

My father made me nervous.

Maybe you were already nervous. Maybe you lacked grit.”

It’s just ok. It’s not bad imo. 2 also isnt bad if you’re braced for it.

2 could have been really good if they rewrote some of the cringe dialogue and totally cut the gay bike cop character and everything related to his character with the black ops military guys. Then you’d be left with a solid raymond chandleresque LA noir with a couple of converging story lines.

what do you mean by "braced for it"? is it particularly graphic?

i actually lost interest in season 1 halfway through and never finished it, though i am aware that pretty much everyone says its one of the best seasons of television of all time yadda yadda. i might rewatch it though, i think i was just distracted the first time around

i did really really love season 3. dementia runs in my family and the show's portrayal of his deteriorating mental faculties really hit home with me. i also just felt a general sense of creeping dread through the entire season that frankly i sometimes dont feel in other shows with a similar vibe.

Cr 2 got a bad rap in the wake of the POTUS season of a television show in history (TD1). kind of like Godfather 3 imo

Holds up v. well today

Godfather 3 is bad, it’s also not The Same which angers people, Pacino sucks in it, Mantegna sucks in it, Sofia sucks, and no Duvall. The Vatican intrigue is ok. The script isn’t bad other than too much dwelling on Fredo.

It does not. It is beyond terrible. Actors and the big set pieces are good, but the story is a nonsense nonsense.

Because of season 1 this whole "series" is impossible to discuss objectively lol. But I liked 2 more than 3

I binge watched this a few weeks ago and thought it was great. Reveal was kind of a let down but made sense narratively.

i actually agree that strangely enough, in a weird way, the reveal was one of the weakest parts of the season. it definitely made sense narratively but the scene(s) at the "pink castle" and the man's house just weren't as dramatic/dark/foreboding as the earliest episodes.

On rewatch s2 was better than I remembered although Vince Vaughn is still dogshit. S3 is very solid it just can’t compete with s1.
