The other "good" season of True Detective is #3, right?

“You got your father’s hands.
My father made me nervous.
Maybe you were already nervous. Maybe you lacked grit.”

binge watched this a few days ago when I was sick.
Wow, what an incredible season.
Anybody else really love it?

what do you mean by "braced for it"? is it particularly graphic?
i actually lost interest in season 1 halfway through and never finished it, though i am aware that pretty much everyone says its one of the best seasons of television of all time yadda yadda. i might rewatch it though, i think i was just distracted the first time around
i did really really love season 3. dementia runs in my family and the show's portrayal of his deteriorating mental faculties really hit home with me. i also just felt a general sense of creeping dread through the entire season that frankly i sometimes dont feel in other shows with a similar vibe.

i actually agree that strangely enough, in a weird way, the reveal was one of the weakest parts of the season. it definitely made sense narratively but the scene(s) at the "pink castle" and the man's house just weren't as dramatic/dark/foreboding as the earliest episodes.
