I've read voraciously on the subject, I have spent probably hundreds of hours trying to understand because it defies all reason. I have never heard a plausible explanation. Israel is only slightly bigger than the state of Vermont. Its population is smaller than New Jersey. It doesn't have oil or any natural resources. It doesn't control any vital trade routes like the Suez canal. It is not the only ally in the region (Gulf states, Jordon, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, are all US allies). That the US is willing to destroy its credibility, not just in the Arab world, not just in the Muslim world, but pretty much the entire world, for the sake of this tiny country that doesn't even respect it is an aberration that is unparalleled in human history. |

It’s really simple, boomers feel connected to the story of a “democracy rising in the Middle East” even if that means looking past its blood soaked history. Boomers at their core love grand narratives of good versus evil. They coded Israel as good so will justify anything they do.
Christians buy into this fake idea that once the last Jew is back in Israel the rapture begins. Basically a death cult. |
