Date: June 19th, 2025 3:54 PM Author: floppy indigo cuckoldry yeah, most pd offices have their own investigators. they help me mostly by interviewing witnesses and victims when I ask them to (and the 180 ones are skilled and thorough). Some of our investigators are former cops. I think others go through at least some kind of training in investigative techniques.
I think they are the best paid staff in our office after attorneys, but can be a lot of work when they get more serious cases like murders. Probably more interesting than being a paralegal at least |

I got a case dismissed recently where my client was accused of felony car theft. It turned out the “victim” just regretted selling the car to someone at a lower price than what he could have sold it for and then reported it stolen. Would you prefer criminal defendants have no right to counsel and the prosecutor have no burden of proving they committed a crime? Just let them rot in jail if the cops say they did something wrong (because cops never lie or abuse their power, right?) ? |
