GSY gets .4% more div and it seems safe as furk nigga even if it had max drawdown like in 2020 its 4% and i just shift it into equities:
Risk Type SGOV (0-3 Month Treasury) GSY (Ultra-Short Duration)
Credit Risk Virtually Zero (Backed by the US Govt). Low to Moderate (Corporate debt).
Interest Rate Risk Near Zero (Resets every 90 days). Low (Average maturity is <1 year).
Liquidity Risk None (Treasuries are the most liquid asset). Low (But can widen during a panic).
Max Drawdown (Hist.) ~0.05% (Extremely stable). ~4.50% (Saw stress in 2020).
Yield (Risk Premium) Base Rate (~4.6% - 5.0%). Base Rate + ~0.50% "Risk Premium".

Is SGOV a good place to hold cash?
SGOV and similar (VMFXX for one) are generally fine for parking cash. They are likely to result in a loss of real value over time, as they won't beat inflation. However, most of us tend to need someplace to park some cash.Dec 12, 2025
