8 hours a day spent the right way for one year would bring you close to fluent in chinese. its easier than ever now with all the free resources for you. |

Im not knocking you for it, i wouldn't have that drive to learn a language voluntarily either (and have still been working on just one foreign language for years). but people who tell you its a pipe dream are just wrong.
you should check out the polyglots on youtube who acquire languages very quickly. they blow right through the conventional wisdom that it takes X long to learn a new language, and they aren't geniuses.
