One of the things I like about you, MASE, is that you treat critiques seriously, even if you don't on a gut level believe the critiques. It stays in your head and you think about it - that is a good sign, because deepening one's views requires wrestling with the very best of alternative positions, not their caricatures.
I don't think the post you linked was very good, he seems young and kind of immature, and I don't like his privatio boni ontology - I see reality as crucified between opposites - but truth is multi-faceted and contradictory depending on the level from which it is approached. Even though I think Nietzsche's take on Paul and Christianity has real weight to it, there is of course room for egg's perspective. Jung, who I think is amazing, thinks highly of Paul: he wrote that there were ten pillars of historical wisdom, which included the following works: Gilgamesh, I Ching, Upanishads, Lao-tzu, Heraclitus, The Gospel of John, the Letters of Paul, Meister Eckhart, Dante and Goethe’s Faust.
So I will be revisiting Paul's letters in the future.
Also, I read Kierkegaard for the first time recently -- he is excellent, but his work is really challenging. I don't think the Twitter guy linked within egg's post really understood him. I have a draft prepared on him which I'll post in the future.
