i sold some arcane specialty hardware on eBay that i listed as "seller refurbished." in the description i reiterated that these were not new, but i had reset them to factory defaults and included all parts that came with a new unit.
some dumb prole bought two of them for $800 and now wants a refund because, basically, they "looked new" to him in the pictures, and he admitted that he didn't bother to read the description.
i never have to deal with this kind of prole stupidity when i sell my more valuable/luxury items Jfc

If he admitted to all this shit that means you have proof and no reason to give him a refund
I love proles btw. You've just been gay for too long to know how to interact with them

I agree that a 5 axis articulated robot would be the bee's knees, but may I suggest a reciprocating actuator for your entry level model, instead of a motor? A motor would require a gearbox for speed reduction, then you'd have to convert the rotary motion to reciprocating motion, while a reciprocating actuator could achieve the same effect with less equipment. Plus, if the prime mover is a stepper or servo, you could really add some pizzazz with PLC controls.
If you're going through the trouble and expense of a PLC, it'd be a waste to use it as nothing more than glorified speed control potentiometer. A good touchscreen HMI would be ideal, especially if it's rated at IP65/NEMA 4X or better to protect your investment from ingress of all types of fluid. Then we could add mechanical or even electrodynamic vibratory exciters, maybe some mechanical oscillation, whatever we want.
