Date: July 27th, 2025 10:22 AM Author: Henna parlor my understanding is that their courses involve discussing obvious things, writing essays about these obvious things, and leaving without any practical skills. they're mostly unemployable even if they have a degree from my (((prestigious))) school, and if they don't come from money they panic and go to grad school or learn to code or something
i took only like two or three Liberal Arts classes to get my STEM degree. don't remember a thing from them. my own Liberal Arts education came from reading books i found interesting and relevant |

AI will never replace serious engineering work; at best, it's an aid that can speed up some tasks done by engineers. also, what you read in the news about AI is a few years behind reality in the business world; i don't recall the exact numbers, but i believe at this point the majority of tech companies have abandoned AI projects because of its limited practical value
STEM in general is doing fine; only coding jobs have seen a significant change in the job market in recent years. for me personally, i'm ahead of my peers in terms of career growth and have a STEM degree from.. let's say a top 5 engineering school, which means i'm much more likely to get interviews than a Liberal Artist who went to a coding bootcamp |
