Buses are fungible and can move on city streets and the entire line doesn't come to a stop if eg a truck breaks down at a rail crossing. It's simpler and much easier to maintain. The one I saw above was by Seattle Central community college on Capitol Hill. A car bumper was just slightly in the way and it had to stop. Everyone got off and got on a bus. It was still there blocking traffic almost an hour later when I got back. |
