Pop won with different combos of guys and often less talented than their opposition overall making Parker and Ginobili HOFers when an alternate timeline has them as 6th men role players. Sure, Duncan was the constant, but he was at the very end of his career and a shell of himself during the last run in 2014.
In the NBA, you obviously need talent to win, but tons of coaches fail even with sufficient talent. You need the right coach to bring it all together. Is Phil Jackson a fraud because he only ever won when he had multiple HOFers on his teams?
Belichick got exposed because after Brady left, the Pats fell apart while Brady won another superbowl with a different team and coach. There's also the pre-Brady years which were very bad.

But Pop also and he went to the playoffs four consecutive years after Duncan retired and with Kawhi in street clothes before the team was totally blown up.
The lame but honest answer is that neither are frauds. The first three Super Bowls were more attributable Bill's defenses and game planning than Brady. Not saying he was Trent Dilfer or anything but he wasn't the killer he became in later years. |
