The core game is $20, then you have to buy these regional "packs" and individual "states" to go anywhere. It's probably cheaper to drive a IRL truck across America. Fuck this game.

You need a goddamn USB "CB radio" that costs more than a IRL CB radio? I'm not even getting paid real money to drive.

My whole reason for exploring this is because I have the option of creating custom game servers on my server. I'm looking for an online of community of gamers who want a truly unique and wild experience, and this game seemed perfect.
But I figured I should at least learn how to play it before hosting the server. Now I'm having second thoughts about this platform.

I got the Euro Truck Simulator years ago when Steam was having those $0.99 sales. I never played it until today though.
First, the graphics are not good. I had everything maxed out and it still looked like a 30 year-old game.
As far as the actual game, it uses a ton of time compression so that your "3 hour" drive only takes about 30 minutes. So even if the maps are based on real places, they are compressed so that you don't have long stretches of nothing. I thought it would be 1:1 scale but this is bullshit. I would never play it.
