i think this is one reason why israel has become more tolerant of its arab population in the last few decades; they're at a genetic bottleneck and on average their administrators are intelligent enough to be aware of it and the problems this can cause for the population in a couple of generations. levantine arabs and mizrahi jews also share quite a bit of DNA afaik
