obama's covert establishmentness wasnt apparent to most until after he left office. leftists like taibbi and greenwald were exiled for questioning him. everyone was high on HOPE AMD CHANGE. this included most poasters here, and in 2008 that was mostly highly intelligent law students/aspirants. people best situated to know better. people had more trust in politicans, government, and media then.
it's only with hindsight bias that people openly wonder WHY like candy ride itt. but up until 2015ish with the MAGA revolutuon most people were still waiting for hope and change. that's precisely why a trump presidency became possible: disillusionment to the point electing a true buckwild radical. in 2008 people were reasonable and electing a dindu named barack hussein obama was an unfathomably radical act. |
