there is a lake in minneapolis named Calhoun (after US vice POTUS John C. Calhoun) which libs tried to rename to some sort of unpronounceable nonsense a few years ago.
using the old name has become a political marker in minnesota. libs obediently try to use the new nonsense name, while everyone else simply says 'Calhoun,' which enrages libs.
if you're ever dealing with a minnesotan lib, use 'Lake Calhoun' obtrusively and abrasively as often as possible. because it's funny.

better yet if you can somehow also mention Denali (which is what alaskans actually prefer to call it), if they even know what you're talking about.
notice how "fewer syllables wins" is the overarching rule, easier to spell too.
