But I do think your point about how facsimile tech becoming indistinguishable from genuine tech will largely just render the genuine tech useless. This may end up being the solution to the surveillance state: no one will give a fuck about a network of street cameras watching you go from the scene of the crime back to your apartment when defense counsel can mock up identical videos of the case agent, judge, and juror #4 committing the crime and doing the exact same return route.
