The number of self-proclaimed JRPG aficionados who haven't played Phatasy Star IV is incredibly high. It's a triumph and has Ninja Gaiden esque cutscenes better than any 16-bit Squaresoft game. At least 70% haven't played it. exeunt played it and it was important part of his childhood because he was a Scumbag whose single mom only allowed him to have a Genesis because it was the low-class Console.

2D Sonic is better than 2D Mario. The games are replayable and have Branching Paths and the "stories" feel sort of epic. The fact that this is an unpopular opinion and gets you jumped on by soy Losers is proof of how underrated Genesis is. If you'd rather play the one with baby Mario crying or Super Mario World which feels like a colorful NES game then you do you, champ.

Doom for 32X was the most accessible and earliest way to play the game for normal people. Actually playing PC games before DirectX was a PITA iirc. Doom is badass and Scummy and defines the 32X.

Castlevania is better on Genesis iirc. This shouldn't even be an unpopular opinion. Castlevania IV is slow and gay.

SNES has terrible slowdown that you don't see on Genesis where Titles like Gunstar Heroes run at a smooth af framerate.

You also just have the Scumbag orgy of Titles like Streets of Rage and Corpse Killer. Brings me back to the days when the world was smaller and people could live in Trailers without internet access, thinking that their existence was Normal because they had no frame of reference.

The most overrated games are the ones Losers glom onto like Super Metroid or any Nintendo game.

Genesis is Scummy, not Losery. It’s only really lacking with respect to Loser games like Mario Kart and Squaresoft JRPGs
