During some of the recorded "bump" conversations, several times either Donna or Charlie said something to the effect of, "We can't tell Dad about this. He will freak out." And Harvey was also at the airport with a one-way ticket to Vietnam in hand, but they only arrested Donna.
It would be fascinating to know how much Harvey knew about the murder-for-hire plot and when he found out. I have to think he eventually knew something. But at the bare minimum, there isn't enough evidence to convict him in court. And I think there is a very strong possibility that either he didn't know about the plot or he only found out about it years afterward. |

Aside from the calls saying, "We can't tell Dad; he will freak out," as I recall, there was a call between Harvey and Donna where Donna told Harvey that she might need to write some checks from the business account to cover some "unexpected expenses" that she was very evasive about. Harvey seemed sketched out, but said he would defer to her judgement. I think it's also telling that Charlie was calling Donna and Katie nonstop after the bump, but he never tried to talk to Harvey (at least that has been released publicly).
He certainly knew something at some point. Presumably he watched Charlie's trial. Afterward, he decided to flea to Vietnam rather than turn in his wife. But the bump conversations strongly imply that he didn't know about the plot at least at the time of the bump, which implies that he was most likely not part of the original murder conspiracy. |

Charlie and the others but especially Charlie could not shut the fuck up and ranted for hours to everyone about what it could be. He had a knack for convincing himself of things. He would talk himself into believing lots of erroneous things. An innocent person would go to police or just not care. He was thinking about it every day. |

My guess is that they already know that their mom killed their dad and they hate her for it, but there is nothing they can do about it, and they don't want to end up in the system if she gets arrested. Mysteriously needing to be home the day the murder takes place. She then attempts to drive by his house right after the murder and doesn’t call her husband or check on her kids or ask the police what happened when she sees the roadblock.
